Recent studies have shown that the majority of people listen to music whilst cleaning, but we've discovered in a recent survey that Pop is the genre that Brits are most likely to listen to whilst doing their spring cleaning (62%), closely followed by 80s (58%).

Music has proven benefits and effects on mood, productivity, memory and much more, so it makes sense that many of us turn to our favourite tracks to motivate ourselves to get around the house cleaning. With its upbeat and catchy tunes, it’s not surprising that Pop music came out on top. Jazz and Heavy Metal came out as the least likely music to clean to, with only 24% and 25% respectively, whilst Rock, Dance and 90s were all popular with around half of respondents.

In addition to the survey, we enlisted the help of our loyal customers to create the ultimate spring cleaning playlist; a unique collection of songs to get you in the mood for a spring clean! Consistent with the survey results, songs that came out on top included classic 80s pop songs including Queen - I Want To Break Free and Wham! - Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.

We also found in a recent survey that 92% of Brits are happy when they have a clean house, with 68% finding joy in cleaning the kitchen. Paired with the positive effects of music on happiness, a spring clean with your favourite tracks blasting is a brilliant mood-boosting activity!
