There's nothing quite like the gleam of buffed windows and mirrors, or granite surfaces shining in the sunlight, but there’s not a lot worse than smudges and streaks ruining these simple pleasures. We've noticed a few of our lovely customers have encountered streaky windows and dull countertops, so we’re here to help.

The spray-and-hope approach: a sure-fire way to land yourself in detention 

You may be faced with a dusty mirror or a kitchen surface that's lost its shine and give into your first instinct, to grab that cleaning spray and spritz it directly onto the surface, followed by a vigorous wipe with a wet cloth. Even with a water softener, the minerals in tap water leave behind residue that can dull your surfaces and undo all your hard work, and spritzing directly onto the surface may mean you end up using a little too much product. We’ve been guilty of this in the past too, but we’ve learnt a lot on the journey to effective natural cleaning. 

One simple revision to the way you clean

Here’s a tip that'll revolutionise your cleaning routine: start with a clean, dry cloth and spray Counter Clean directly onto that instead. Spraying onto the cloth means you can see exactly how much product you're using and don’t end up over-spritzing, plus the dry cloth means no nasty water deposits left behind. 

The final touch 

For tip-top results, there's one key stage that’s often forgotten: buffing. Once you've cleaned your surface, grab a fresh, clean, dry cloth and give everything a gentle buff. This finishing touch removes any remaining residue and brings out that sparkling shine we're all after.
