Our co-founders, Purdy and Charlotte, started making natural cleaning products in an empty garage in North West London 6 years ago. They made them for themselves, to reduce the amount of chemicals they were spraying in their homes, and the amount of single use plastic they were using. From there, they started hosting workshops for friends, teaching them how to detox their cleaning routines with products they could make at home. Overwhelmed with positive feedback, they quickly realised they were onto something and set out to create an effective, plant-based product that would change the way people feel about cleaning.
We’re very proud of our origin story and of being a female led brand and this International Women’s Day, we wanted to celebrate some other female founded brands in the UK, who are doing great things.
Our Hotlist of Brands
First up, Chloe Jonason, who’s responsible for sourcing and selling the most beautiful textiles in the east midlands, and even using them to reupholster old furniture, making the old into something new. We love slow textiles and the experience of taking something damaged and creating something beautiful, rather than buying new.

Similarly, Esther Knight set up Fanfare after years of working in the fashion industry and witnessing first hand the volume of waste produced, and the impact of the industry both on our planet, and on the people making the clothes. She decided to go it alone and create circular collections that are non-damaging to people and planet.

Next, we’re over to our western isle, where family-run Mabli Knits is dishing out the most adorable children’s knitwear collections one can find. Inspired by the beautiful patterns of welsh tapestry blankets and constructed with the highest quality italian yarns, like us, at Mabli they know the importance of sourcing the very best ingredients.
