Spring is in the air, and with the changing season comes the urge to deep clean and declutter our homes. While most people may focus on their living spaces, the bathroom is a crucial area that deserves some attention. BUT, before you go reaching for those harsh chemicals, there are plenty of natural ingredients that can be just as effective, cheaper, and safer for your family (and the environment).

In this article, we'll explore some natural tips to clean your bathroom using everyday ingredients such as lemons, bicarbonate of soda, white vinegar, and citric acid. These ingredients are readily available, affordable, and have proven to be effective cleaning agents.

Banish Limescale: Natural Shower Head Clean

Have you noticed that your shower head isn't quite as powerful as it used to be? Or is water spraying off in all sorts of directions? It might be time to descale your shower head! Simply make up a solution of citric acid in hot water (around 50g of citric acid per 100ml water) and leave your shower head soaking for about an hour. Gently scrub with an old toothbrush to remove any limescale residue!

Flush Away Stains: Simple Natural Toilet Hack

Cleaning the toilet bowl is not the most glamorous task, but it's essential for a healthy and hygienic bathroom. Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda into the bowl, then pour in white vinegar. The mixture will fizz and bubble, helping to remove stains and odours. Leave it for a few minutes before scrubbing the bowl with a brush and flushing.

Keep your basin sparkling with lemons!

The basin is another area that can accumulate soap scum and hard water stains. Cut a lemon in half and use it to rub the basin's surfaces. The citric acid in the lemon juice will break down the stains and leave a fresh, citrusy scent. Rinse with water and wipe dry.

Natural Bathtub Solution to Soak Your Cares Away

For a natural, all-purpose cleaner for your bathtub, mix 1/2 cup bicarbonate of soda with a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Sprinkle the mixture onto the surface of the tub and scrub with a damp sponge - the naturally abrasive bicarb will help to remove soap scum. Rinse with water and wipe dry.

Natural Mirror Cleaning Hack for Streak-free Sine

To keep your mirrors streak-free and shiny, mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray the solution onto the mirror and wipe with a clean cloth or paper towel. For a final touch, rub the mirror with a dry cloth or crumpled newspaper to prevent streaks - like we have in this video:

In conclusion, cleaning your bathroom with natural ingredients is a safe, affordable, and effective way to keep it looking and smelling fresh. So, put on your gloves, turn on your favourite tunes, and get ready to tackle your bathroom with these natural cleaning tips!
