Our Ethos as a Conscious Company

At Purdy & Figg, we pride ourselves on being a conscious business -- a choice that is a strong part of our foundation and influences everything we do. From our earliest beginnings as the passion project of two friends focused on harnessing the power of natural ingredients, to our sustainably produced and packaged products and supporting charities, it’s important to us that we remain socially responsible across all areas of the business.

Since we launched our premium hand sanitiser spray in April 2020, we have donated hundreds of care packages to NHS hospitals and ICUs. Given our co-founder Purdy’s background as an NHS Nurse, it’s been a key focus of ours to continue to support the NHS. Last November, we joined the nationwide Bright Friday campaign, donating over 3,000 bottles to 80 hospitals and care homes across the country in a bid to encourage individuals to make more sustainable choices on Black Friday. We asked members of the public to nominate their local care homes and hospitals to receive care packages of Purdy & Figg products and received nominations of over 80 different hospitals. We have been extremely proud to supply our carers with a product that we hope brings a touch of sunshine to their day.

We wholeheartedly believe that it’s essential that we each play our part in tackling climate change. We’ve taken great care to ensure that each of our products is packed in refillable or reusable packaging, aiming to reduce plastic waste and help protect the environment. For example, our hand sanitisers come in lovely glass bottles in both 20ml and 50ml sizes, with a larger 250ml glass refill bottle available to help cut down waste.

As a family-run business, it’s especially important to us to work with businesses that share our values and ethos. For example, our essential oils, which are a hugely important part of the quality and sustainability of our product come from a Father-and-Son run business in Greece, where they grow and produce their own Organic essential oils. We’ve also been fortunate enough to partner with several incredible brands who share our sense of community and sustainability, such as The Newt in Somerset, The Tate and Czech & Speake.

As we continue to grow as a business, we pledge to continue to work with and support like minded brands and charities and continue to take a conscious approach in everything that we do. We hope that this choice will empower our customers to be conscious in their choices, and to continue to select environmentally friendly and sustainable products.
