7 weird and wonderful uses of Counter Clean that you (possibly) haven’t thought of…

by on May 5, 2022 17:35

One thing that makes Counter Clean great is how versatile it is. You can use it on everything, and we mean everything.

We’ve listed some of the more out-of-the-ordinary things that the Purdy & Figg team have cleaned with Counter Clean - let us know about any other weird and wonderful places you’ve used it!

1. Cricket bat

With cricket season well under way, you may be interested to know that our Chemist, Dr Anna, has had some great success cleaning off all the ball scuff marks before her ladies cricket match this weekend!

2. Plant pots/spades

One happy customer has taken her Counter Clean outdoors to give her spade a clean!. Whilst you’re out there, why not give your glazed ceramic plant pots an extra shine!

3. Shoes

We know this might sound like a strange one, but we’ve been known to use Counter Clean to clean our shoes. Whether it’s the pair of once-white trainers or a canvas shoe with an irritating mark, Counter Clean is a much more gentle approach than bunging them in the washing machine!

Check out our TikTok on how to get your trainers white again...

4. Bins

Whether it’s your kitchen bin that needs a freshen up or the wheelie bin that’s seen a few too many split bin liners, Counter Clean is great for not only cleaning up any spillages but leaves the bin smelling lovely and fragrant. It’s also great for keeping flies away as we enter the warmer months!

5. Floors

Fed up of floor cleaners that smell overly synthetic? You can either spray Counter Clean directly on the floor (or onto your cloth/mop) and wipe or, if you have a larger area, it may be easier to dilute some in a bucket of warm water. According to Dr Anna, a 20ml concentrate would make 10 litres of floor cleaner for general maintenance cleaning (approx. 5 buckets worth) or if you need something a little stronger then use the entire 20ml concentrate to prepare 2 litres of floor cleaner in your mop bucket. (Bear in mind, the more you dilute the concentrate, the more you will also be diluting the essential oil scent!)

6. Pots & Pans

We all have that one pan that just won’t come clean after years of use. We’ve found that using Counter Clean in its concentrated form, dabbed directly onto problem areas and then left to work for a few minutes can work wonders at shifting that encrusted dirt.

7. Upholstered furniture

You can even use Counter Clean to clean your upholstered furniture like sofas, bed frames and chairs by following our saucepan lid trick! Simply wrap your cloth around a saucepan lid, spray Counter Clean and clean upholstery in circular motions.
